President Donald Trump said Friday that he will formally announce his candidacy for the 2020 presidential election on June 18 at a rally in Orlando, Florida, beginning what may prove to be a difficult bid for another four years at the White House.
“I will be announcing my Second Term Presidential Run with my wife Melanie, Vice President Mike Pence, and Pence’s wife Karen Pence on June 18th in Orlando, Florida, at the 20,000 seat Amway Center,” Trump tweeted Friday with a link to tickets to the event. “Join us for this Historic Rally!”
The president has already been holding political rallies and raising millions of dollars for his re-elections.
Trump says Florida is his second home, and he won the state in 2016. However his victory is not assured there in 2020, and is likely to face a tough fight to win it again.
The president is banking on a strong economy and solid support among Republicans for his re-election bid. Since Trump took over as president in early 2017, the United States has had low unemployment and strong growth.
However strategists believes that it is not going to be an easy run Trump this time around. Democratic front-runner Joe Biden will give him a tough fight during this presidential elections for sure.
